PRESIDENTIAL LAKES FIRE & RESCUE SQUAD
KICKS OFF UNIQUE RECRUITING DRIVE

POSTED BY FIRE CHIEF TOM r. MAAHS, SR.
7/20/08
As the Chief of the Presidential Lakes Fire & Rescue Squad, Inc. I wanted
everyone to know, we are prepared to roll out a new recruitment & retention
program. Realizing the shortfall of Emergency Medical Technicians we currently
have in our membership, I started thinking of ways to increase the number.
Being an “All Volunteer” organization that is both EMS & Fire under one roof
actually made it a bit difficult to offer an incentive program without jeopardizing
EMT access to the New Jersey Department of Health Training Fund as well as
possible issues with the IRS by offering cash incentives.

Having thought about a way to do a program for sometime, I came across an
idea that is used in the business world rather frequently to increase productivity.
I figured that maybe a four (4) night three (3) day all inclusive trip for two (2)
including airfare to Cancun, Mexico might work. Then I realized that being an
organization that is both EMS & Fire. I could not make it work with only one trip.
Looking further into the situation I decided that it would take two trips, one for
the Top Responding BLS responding crew member and one for the Top
Responding Fire apparatus responding crew member. The program will run from
July 30, 2008 through July 30, 2009. As the flier promoting this says” Join Now
For Your Chance to Win a Trip!!!

Are you a certified Emergency Medical Technician or Firefighter who wishes to
use your training but not really interested in the requirements of an active
member with an organization? We offer a contributing membership classification
which would allow you to only answer calls or perform duty crews.

Our organization is seeking members of all classifications as we realize the need
to increase our membership in order to provide the Professional Rapid services
our residents, business and visitors to the Township deserve and expect 24
hours per day, 7 days per week. For more information you may contact the
Chief to schedule a meeting to learn more. You may also see the flier or our
bylaws to see what membership classification you are interested in.

We are an organization which has rules and regulations and also enjoys having
fun at the same time. Contact me to see how you can become a part of our
family.

Pemberton Township resident Rudy
Iriziarry adopted this "Night Blooming
Cirus"

Rudy said recently he said he
expected the Cirus  to bloom about
12 times during the next few weeks.

The Blooms last for one night, and
then die off
